What to buy during Amazon Prime Day

I have a complex relationship with Amazon; I find shopping it to be a frustrating experience if you don't know exactly what you're looking for, because there's so. Much. Stuff. I've also really dialed back the amount of clothing and accessories I buy on the site, because, really, most of it is junk. That said, Amazon sells many legit brands and products that I use on the regular, it's incredibly convenient, and to be honest, I probably order from it two or three times a week. And because I am human—or maybe just because I'm a shopping blogger—I do get a little excited about the deals they offer during Prime Day, which happens to be today and tomorrow. As with shopping any sale, it's best not to get too emotional about it; the thing I always ask myself is whether I'd still buy something if it were full price. Which is why Prime Day is a great time to stock up on staples: beauty products, kitchen items, and gadgets that you need to replenish and won't get all dopamine-boosted about. You can shop all of my Prime Day Picks in my Amazon shop (there are more than what I've listed here), but read on for more on the items I own, use, and would highly recommend.

Beauty

Pictured left to right:
L'Occitane Almond Shower Oil: If you have dry skin like I do, this stuff is a godsend—I almost don't need body lotion after I shower. Smells amazing too.

Jergens Natural Glow: This formula is better than most fancy self-tanners I've used, and it has only the faintest smell. The color is buildable and natural.

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask: Probably one of my top 10 favorite beauty products of all time. I don't sleep without it!

Bioderma Sensibio Micellar Water: Amazing for removing makeup, even thick eyeliner and bright red lipstick. Will also work as facial cleanser on lazy nights.

Cosrx Snail Mucin essence: I use this under moisturizer when my face is being extra reactive (rash, dehydration, you name it) and my skin just soaks it right up. Very gentle, very effective.

Olaplex No. 3: My hair was a broken, frizzy, stringy mess before I discovered this stuff. I am a huge fan of the entire line, but this is the key product.

More products I use and recommend:
Clinique Moisture Surge moisturizer: I recently rediscovered this product and whoa does it quench my skin when it's feeling dehydrated, which is often.

Sun Bum SPF 50: This is my go-to sunscreen. Smells like a pina colada, protects like none other.

Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen: If you like a more natural finish, this is a very good daily face sunscreen. It's also quite expensive normally, so a great deal during Prime Day.

Revlon One-Step Volumizer: I use this at least once a week to refresh my blowout (or to dry and smooth my hair if I'm in a big rush). If you are not great at blowouts, this brush is your friend.

Crest 3D Whitestrips: I always steal these from Sean, so I'm going to be responsible and get my own box. These really work, but you have to use them consistently for best results.

ColorWOW Dream Coat: This stuff is kind of tricky to get right, but once you figure out how to work with it (and you have to blow-dry with STRONG tension), it gives you an amazing blowout.

Essence Lash Princess: This is my favorite cheap mascara; it gives really dramatic volume, especially with several coats.

Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting BHA: Another product in my top 10 of all time, this is the only thing that keeps my blackheads at bay.

Travel

Lo and Sons duffel (pictured above): I was very excited to see this on Prime Day—I own this bag in two sizes (this is the larger one, above, with my checked suitcase) and never travel without it. It's super durable, has lots of pockets, and looks so classic.

Bose noise-canceling headphones: Another item I never travel without are these headphones, which make watching a movie, sleeping, or tuning out the obnoxious person next to you a pure delight.

Beautural steamer: I am not a high-maintenance traveler, but I always travel with this foldable steamer, which heats up in 30 seconds and is way safer for your clothes than any sketchy hotel iron.

Home

Eufy robot vacuum: I have no patience with AI coming for my day job, but I have all the time in the world for this robot vacuum, which takes its sweet time cleaning my floors but does a pretty thorough job.

Philips fabric shaver: This thing is a must if you wear sweaters, which I'm assuming you do. It removes pills quickly and easily, without snagging the yarn.

Rubbermaid Brilliance storage containers: This may be the least sexy thing here, but these food storage containers are great for leftovers—they're airtight, BPA free, and really durable.

ClearSpace storage bins: These are great for organizing a linen closet, pantry, or anywhere you have a cluster of untidy items. Fun fact: they store all of the products I feature here on Cheryl Shops!

Aura digital picture frames: We have three of these throughout our home—they are the nicest-looking digital photo frames you've ever seen, and they're really easy to update via the app (you can also share photos to a family member's frame and vice-versa, which makes this a great grandparent gift).

What's in my cart

I know, I'm not supposed to be shopping. But if I were, here's what I'd buy:

Lillusory cover up: Several influencers I follow on the 'gram have been raving about this one. I don't love that it's acrylic, but it's very tempting for my Italy trip.

Bay Laurel Turkish beach towel: Speaking of my vacation, we're going to be doing a lot of impromptu swimming, so the idea of having a handy little towel seems quite practical. Love that this comes in a pouch.

Biodance Bio Collagen Real Deep mask: This is another product that the influencers have been raving about, and that I'm very tempted to try, especially as a back sleeper.

Lillusory cardigan: This is also a bunch of synthetic fibers, but it's a dupe for the J.Crew Emilie sweater and it's a third of the price. It has rave reviews, so hopefully that's promising.

Sonos Ray compact sound bar: This is technically Sean's pick, and he's not doing no-buy July, so he can get it, yay!
