Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2024 picks

It's that time of year again: the time when influencers take a stand about not covering the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale...then a few days later, cave in and share their picks. I, on the other hand, will proudly cover it from the get-go, because, let's face it, I always end up shopping this sale—proudly. First, some key dates to know:

  • Icon cardmembers can shop starting today, 7/9
  • Ambassador cardmembers can shop starting tomorrow, 7/10
  • Influencer cardmembers (that's me!) can shop starting Wednesday, 7/11
  • Everyone else can shop starting Monday, 7/15 through Sunday, August 4th.

Nordstrom seems to have fixed their pandemic-era stock issues, or at least they did last year—I ended up buying most of what I featured—so I'm following the same format this year. First up: my shortlist Nordstrom Anniversary Sale picks for 2024.

What I'm buying this year

1. Every year I feature something from Farm Rio, and every year, that item sells out on the first day. This year, however, there are multiple incredibly cute FR things (including this wild cardigan and this really cute blouse), so I'm hoping they don't all sell out immediately, because I am particularly obsessed with this skirt. I don't at all need it, but I really, really want it (and I'd get this tee to go with it).

2. These boots are giving Olsen Twins in Louboutins circa 2005, and I am here for it—I keep saying how I need a big ol' pair of platform boots to lift me above the sidewalk schmutz when I go out in the Mission.  I do not love the side gusset on these, but I do like the price.
Kork-Ease Platform Bootie $144.99 (reg. $210)

3. I really do not need another sweater, especially a chunky one such as this, which tends not to be a good look for a short-waisted, big-busted person such as myself. But this particular sweater has been on my radar for awhile, and I think it will look really good with high-waisted pants.

4. I used to think setting spray was for people who wore a lot of makeup (and it is), until I tried this one. It makes even a no-makeup makeup look stay put all day long, without any irritation whatsoever. If I buy one thing from the sale, this will be it.

5. Every year Nordstrom features some sort of twist on Sisley's cult Black Rose mask, and every year I vow to buy it (but never do). Considering this year's set is basically the cost of said mask with a free $125 toner thrown in, this may actually be the year I succumb.
Sisley Paris Face Care Set $240 ($365 value)

6. I think we can safely say that we're in our wide-leg jeans era, because Nordstrom has a lot of great options in this year's sale, including the Paige Anessa and rag & bone Andi. But the pair that really caught my eye is this man-repellingly wide leg from Free People. I love the utility pockets and especially the cuffs.

7. There are several red coats in this year's sale—a tailored classic from Ralph Lauren and a poly-heavy wrap from Bernardo—but this double-breasted beauty from Reiss was the one that caught my eye. I wish it didn't have a belt (I'd wear it without) but otherwise she's a 9 out of 10.

8. Many of my tights are reaching the stretched-out-waistband phase, so I will likely take advantage of the sale to replenish my supply. I highly recommend anything from the German brand Falke, especially their Matte Opaque tights. I will get basic black but really have my eye on this gorgeous burgundy color too.

What I've bought in the past

This look features two items included in the N-sale, the Free People tee I bought last year and the Spanx faux leather leggings that are part of it every year. I love the tee so much, I am probably going to buy it in another color or two—it's perfect for wearing with leggings.
We The Free Arden Tee $34.99 (reg. $58)
Spanx Faux Leather Leggings $64.99 (reg. $98)

While we're on the topic of Spanx, the sale is a great time to score their workout sets too—I am a huge fan and I feel like Spanx activewear doesn't get the accolades it deserves. The tank provides a lot of support, and both pieces have great compression.

This is slightly different from my sweatshirt, which is a hoodie, but I'm equally obsessed with the Isabel Marant sweatshirt that's part of this year's sale (and will likely sell out immediately). As for the jeans, Sean absolutely hates them, but they conform to your body over time. They're the ultimate Mom Jean.

If you're looking for more of a '90s supermodel jean, you can't go wrong with this one from Madewell, which has the look of super-rigid denim but mercifully has 1% stretch (and a little goes a long way in terms of comfort). One key takeaway from my honest review: make sure you go down a size, unlike me.
I also own and recommend: Madewell Kick Out Crop Jeans $89.99 (reg. $138)

This is a very specific color this year, but Birkenstocks are always a good N-Sale buy, and I especially love my Big Buckles for their, well, big shiny buckles.

Finally for clothes, Nordstrom has a coat that's a slightly shorter version of my Max Mara Estuaria coat, a 2023 best buy. It is still exorbitantly expensive, but as I said, if you can get this coat on sale, it's well worth the investment.

On to beauty, I am really excited that Nordstrom is now carrying Eighth Day, which is my favorite splurge serum of all time (and consistently one of the most-bought items on my site). Yes, this stuff is obscenely expensive, but if you can swing it, it's worth it (and this is a great deal, relatively speaking).

Also at the top of your most-purchased list is True Botanicals Cherbula serum, which is my second-favorite serum of all time, albeit a much more affordable one than Eighth Day. This year's set also includes the Cherbula moisturizer and the Renew Pure Radiance Oil, which is the product that put True Botanicals on the map. An amazing deal.

My holy-grail cleanser is also included in the sale, in a huge vat that looks like it will last 6 months.

Also included: the only eyebrow growth product that actually does anything, basically at a buy one, get one free price. (There's also an eyebrow and eyelash set.)

More beauty products I use regularly:
Chantecaille Essential Eye Trio $88 ($125 value)—this is my ride or die eye shadow
Lancome Lash Idole Volumizing Mascara Duo $33 ($60 value)—the best volumizing mascara with a wand that puts all others to shame
Bobbi Brown Long Wear Cream Eyeshadow Stick Trio $54 ($102 value)—these, amazingly, do not crease!
Hourglass Veil Setting Powder & Brush Set $75 ($115 value)—the best setting powder of all time
Westman Atelier Petite Lit Up Highlight Stick Duo $40 ($52 value)—my two favorite shades in my favorite cheek product of all time
Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray Duo $74 ($104 value)—one of my favorite styling products ever

Great suggestions! My favorite was this heavy-knit wool sweater. It would definitely be perfect to wear, warm and comfortable.

Very interesting proposals. I liked these shoes and the woolen sweater. This would be a perfect combination for the upcoming fall :)
