I had hesitated about buying this skirt because it's basically a longer version of a skirt I already own (last seen in Copenhagen). This one is also in rayon, a fabric that hasn't, in the past, necessarily screamed quality, but apparently it is somewhat sustainable. The colors, fabric, and length—plus a price I couldn't resist—justified the purchase, and I will say, I freaking love this skirt. It's super comfy, thanks to the elasticized smocking through the waist and hips, and the tiered ruffles are surprisingly flattering. I am a huge fan of midi lengths, especially for women of a certain age (as I am), and I find myself wearing this skirt during the work week, in lieu of sweatpants. Yes, it's really that comfortable! This skirt runs a bit big for Isabel Marant; I am wearing a 38 (US 6) and it's still rather generous. Oh, and did I mention how fun the ruffles are?
While this outfit may seem a bit dressed up because of the skirt, I assure you, I'm all about comfort. On my upper half, I've pretty much been wearing sweatshirts exclusively lately. This particular one is an old Everlane style, and I may have worn it every day for an entire week, not that anyone is counting. Of all the basics that Everlane makes, I think they do sweatshirts particularly well. I sized up to a medium in this one, because I wanted a longer, extra slouchy shape (when I wear this with leggings, my bum is fully covered). Still, it's lightweight enough to be able to tuck, as I did here.
Accessory-wise, I've been keeping it super simple lately, and when I've been walking Zuni or taking my mental health breaks, I've been reaching for this Keebos iPhone case. I love it because it's nearly weightless, and there's a little back pocket that holds my ID and credit card. It's really all you need when you're running out for a little fresh air. And in terms of running-out footwear, I'm so excited that it's sandals weather again, which means that I'm now wearing these, my summer Birkenstocks, versus my winter Birkenstocks, which are the suede clogs. (Which I am now realizing I've never actually featured here on the blog, so obviously that needs to change.) I love these because they're PVC, so you can wear them at the beach or in the rain and not worry about cleaning them, and they're just as comfortable as regular Birkenstocks. Oh, and did I mention they're a fraction of the price?
