The star of this outfit is my recently acquired Anine Bing sweatshirt—I say recently acquired because I found it on eBay, new without tags, which falls under my sustainability rules. You may remember it from my sale-shopping post, proof that I do (sometimes) buy the things I recommend! Anyway, I feel like every influencer under the sun has a similar sweatshirt; if I can get away with wearing anything this comfortable in public, I’m ok with it. I’m wearing a medium here, although I probably could have gone with a small—the arms and body are pretty generously cut (although that is part of the look, I suppose). Is this way too much money to pay for a sweatshirt? Probably. But I’m finding that now that I’m buying less, I can spend more on things I really love when I do shop. And, to be clear, I love this sweatshirt.
To play up the rock-and-roll vibe, I paired it with my trusty Banana Republic leather moto jacket (last seen in Valentine’s Day outfit ideas). I’ve had this jacket for about five or six years and it’s starting to age a little bit, which I love. It looks even cooler when it’s more broken in. I can’t attest to the quality of their current version, but as you know, I absolutely love this one—in the three years I worked for Gap Inc., this was definitely my favorite purchase. I’m in a small, for reference, and this jacket runs true to size.
What else would Kate Moss wear with a sweatshirt and moto jacket but black skinny jeans? This is my beloved pair from H&M (you last saw them as part of my winter uniform) and they fit better than a lot of premium denim I’ve owned. Oh, and they’re only $20 and run true to size (I’m in my usual 6). As I noted last time, they’re starting to fade just a bit, but that makes me love them even more. Here, I've cuffed them a bit so they don't bunch up around the ankles.
I feel like Kate would have gone for a more fringed, rocker-y bag, but since I don’t own one of those, I went for my trusty A.P.C. bag. Shoe-wise, I pulled out these blast-from-the-past Acne Pistol boots. I used to wear the living daylights out of these boots and kind of exhausted them, but they’re starting to look fresh again, plus they’re super comfy. Acne sadly doesn’t make this style anymore, but you can score a pair on The Outnet. They do run big—I’m in a size 38. I wonder if Kate still wears hers?
