Weekend casual
I changed into my new pants as soon as I got off the red-eye in New York City, and as I remarked to Sean, nearly every woman we saw was wearing a wide-leg silhouette, so clearly I'm on to something. (Also, man, is it refreshing to see so many chic women!) For a day of sightseeing, I paired them with my new J.Crew Sophie blazer, which will be getting its own post sometime soon (quick take: I love it, although the sleeves are a bit short), as well as my go-to striped tee and accessories you're probably getting sick of seeing at this point. This look took me from a day at the Guggenheim to afternoon drinks at the Carlyle to dinner in the Village, and I kind of didn't want to take it off.

Date night
To be totally honest, we had every intention of going out for date night...but ended up staying home and cooking a delicious dinner. Either way, this is what I had planned on wearing. It's a very similar formula to the previous outfit, just with slightly dressier pieces: a leather jacket instead of a sweater blazer, a clutch instead of a crossbody, and red boots instead of sneakers. I wore a T-shirt underneath with both looks because they're tuckable—so many of my shirts and sweaters are longer (and meant to be worn with skinny pants), so clearly I need to add more cropped, fitted tops to my wardrobe to accommodate this major silhouette change!

Cheryl, these pants are super chic! I love them paired with sneakers and with the red shoes! Actually, the red shoes, white tee, moto jacket, and leopard clutch make such a statement! You are rocking the wide legged pants, for sure. I, on the other hand, cannot rock this trend, try as I might. But that’s okay. I will just appreciate the fabulousness of them on you! They are such fun pants on you! While I love them both ways, and really like the warp style, i think the second outfit is my favourite, love the little pop of red from the shoes! :)
