What to wear with a leopard-print skirt

Perhaps you have seen the Realisation Par Naomi skirt on Instagram. It's been sold out for months (although now, of course, it looks like it's back in stock in some sizes) and like many bloggers out there, I've been obsessed with it. I do know, however, that bias cuts do not do my lower half any favors, so instead, I got a leopard-print midi skirt during Zara's sale last month. I wear it all. The. Time. It's great to dress up for work, but it's even better on the weekends with a T-shirt and sneakers. Expect to see it here again, but in the meantime, here's one of my favorite ways to wear it.

While I still love miniskirts—my legs are one of my better features, in my opinion—I am slowly but surely gravitating toward midi skirts. While I once considered them dowdy, I've grown to love them because they're just so easy. I can wear one without shaving my legs, which is a big plus, and they look great with all kinds of shoes. I think they're more flattering than maxi skirts, too, because they show a bit of lower calf and ankle—usually a shapely, slender part of the body for most people (but not all, I know). As for the print, leopard will always be a classic for me, and it goes with so much. This Zara skirt is unfortunately sold out, but I've linked a few very similar options below.

This skirt looks great with everything from blouses to sweatshirts, but my favorite way to wear it is with a T-shirt, and since these photos were taken during summer in San Francisco, a jacket. You last saw this one in this post—it's knit, so it's kind of like a cross between a jacket and a sweater. I also like a black tee with a white jacket, because it's a twist on the white-tee-and-black-jacket standard. Just keeping things fresh!

I may have mentioned that I'm doing a shopping diet for the month of August, until my trip to France. I have been overall very well behaved, but I did cave once and hit my office sample sale, where I scored this necklace. It's three layers that you can wear all together or separate, and I'm kind of obsessed with it at the moment. I will share more about my shopping diet in an upcoming post!

It's been awhile since you've seen my round raffia bag (in this post) and Gray Goose sneakers (in this post), so in case you were wondering, I wear both all the time. The bag is back in stock at Zara (yay!) and the sneakers are so incredibly comfortable, I plan on wearing them all over Europe. This is the second time I'm featuring them with a dress or skirt, but I do wear them with jeans too. I think they're classic and subdued enough to not look crazy with a skirt, versus the Nikes that I actually work out in. And did I mention how comfortable they are?

I'm finding recently I like shooting in the morning, rather than at dusk, like we usually do. Thanks to the fog, the light has been softer, and I feel less pressured to rush through the shoot to chase the good light. Am I becoming a morning person at the ripe age of 40? Possibly!

I've really been into midi skirts lately, too! It is nice to get away without shaving, esp as it cools down. I love that textured jacket/blazer paired with it.
