Sézane is a fairly new discovery for me (I've worn two of their tops in this post and this one), and this was the first dress I ordered from the brand. I bought it because the color is unlike anything else in my closet and I always believe in trying new things. Clearly I wasn't the only person to fall in love with this dress, as the green version is sadly sold out on their site, however Nordstrom still has it in red and black, both of which are just as lovely. Anyway, this dress is 100% silk and feels like you're wearing nothing, which I love. I'm in a size 40, which is what I tend to order in French brands; I maybe could have gone with a 38, but I like a looser, body-skimming fit.
Because I own virtually nothing in this color, I was a little stumped on how to wear it—it was too earthy with a brown leather jacket, and too superhero-y with black, but my trusty denim jacket (last seen here) felt just right. So once again, if you don't own a denim jacket, get one—it's usually the right answer.
I haven't talked about my jewelry in awhile here, but this dress felt like the perfect one to pair with one of my favorite new necklaces. It's from the Rebecca Minkoff x Stella & Dot collection (full disclosure: I work for the corporate office), and it's the perfect shape to wear with a lower V-neckline. My bag is also Stella & Dot although it's sadly sold out online. As I've noted before, it's the perfect going-out bag for the weekend, and I love that there's a wrist strap too.
As for my shoes, these are one of my favorite pairs—I'm firmly in the "leopard is a neutral" camp, and here they add a little texture and pattern without overwhelming the dress. These are several seasons old, but I've linked a similar pair below. I love these because the straps are really flattering and the heel is high enough to be flattering but low and wide enough to still be comfortable.
Doesn't it look like these photos were shot in Charleston or somewhere lush and green in the South? It's actually a tiny pedestrian street in Russian Hill, San Francisco, which is quickly becoming our favorite neighborhood to shoot in. When it has magical little nooks like this, it's hard to stay away!
