Button-front dresses under $150

Every summer, there's a trending dress silhouette that I absolutely must have, and this year it's the button-front dress. It's not a shirtdress—there's no collar involved, and this style is definitely more feminine by design. It can be belted or not, with a defined waist or not, and with sleeves or without. In other words, there's pretty much something for everyone, which is why I find the button-front dress so appealing (and why I decided to feature it here). The best part: all of the dresses below are under $150, with half under $100. That way you can get more than one!

1. I tend to buy a white dress every summer, and there's just something so classic about this white poplin J.Crew sundress. With its light color and strappy design, it's the ultimate beat-the-heat dress.

2. Goodnight Macaroon is a website that's new to me, but with its reasonably priced, well designed styles, I'm guessing this won't be the last time I feature it here. The Mikheala dress really appealed to me because of the flattering, asymmetrical line of its buttons, as well as its unique color.

3. Julia Engel of Gal Meets Glam is living the blogger dream with her new line of dresses; I checked out a few in person at Nordstrom and they look really well made. The Vanessa dress is simply pretty and classic, and I appreciate that its sizes go up 20.

4. Some of my favorite summer dresses have come from Madwell, plus their Heather dress really appeals to me due to its straight shape (I have a freakishly short torso and have trouble with fixed waistbands).

5. Here's another chic, work-friendly dress from Goodnight Macaroon; the clean lines of the Leandra dress look very French and polished to me, and the fabric is a very summer-friendly cotton and linen blend.

6. It's been ages since I've shopped at Urban Outfitters, and I almost didn't include their Danny dress due to its plunging neckline, but for those of you who can get away without wearing a bra, this is a totally sexy yet innocent option.

7. Ok, this Forever 21 striped dress has a scandalously low neckline as well, but it's one of my favorite styles here: the vertical stripes are super-elongating, and it has pockets (!). Plus, a quick trip to the tailor can make the neckline more bra-friendly.

8. I almost made this story strictly about midi-dresses, but I liked the asymmetrical buttons on this Moon River dress so much, I decided to include it. As much as I love a LWD in summer, LBDs look chic too, and this one can always get layered up for cooler weather too.
