Website of the week
While I love the convenience and selection of Sephora and the expertise at Bliss, sometimes, when shopping for beauty products, I really want a transporting experience. Enter Beautyhabit, a California-based website that offers luxury products from around the world. You can shop by brand name or by product categories, which are then broken down by brand; shopping by category works best, since many of the brands are exotic and little-known. Standouts include the Alpine Speick, made from the valerian plant; Yu-Be, the #1 cream in Japan; the yummy-smelling La Ligne de St. Barth, from the Caribbean; and the almond-based L'amande, from Marseilles. As for little-known homegrown products, there's the whimsical sadie loves billy cosmetics line; J.Lo's favorite Hollywood Fashion Tape; and the delicious-sounding Ganache for Lips. For new arrivals at Beautyhabit, check out the What's new page; the specials section lists many gifts with purchase (my favorite!). Also, Beautyhabit ships all orders over $100 for free, and all orders receive a smattering of samples. (Or if you're the tenative type, send them $11 and they'll send you six samples of your choice--for details, read this.) Beauty products from around the world and free samples? I'm definitely going to make Beautyhabit a habit.
